Setting up Parental Controls on IPTV: Here’s How
1 Min. reading time · Updated on October 7, 2026

With a large selection of channels, children should not see every type of content. Fortunately, several levels of protection can be combined.
1. In the Player App
- TiviMate: Settings → Parental Control → Set PIN and block categories or channels.
- IPTV Smarters Pro: Settings → Parental Control or long-press channel and lock; a PIN will be requested.
Block entire categories (e.g., Adults) so that new channels are automatically affected.
2. On the Device
- Fire TV: Settings → Parental Control Settings → Activate PIN; purchases and app starts can also be protected.
- Apple TV: Settings → General → Restrictions.
- Android TV: Create a user profile for children with restricted apps.
3. In the Router
Time limits and content filters can be set per device in many routers.
Tips
- Choose a PIN that children cannot guess (not 0000 or 1234).
- Check after updates whether the locks have remained active.
- Talk to your children about the rules; technology does not replace supervision.
