How many Mbit/s do I need for IPTV?
For smooth streaming, a stable download speed is most important. As guidelines with some buffer: SD from approx. 3 Mbit/s, HD from 6 Mbit/s, Full HD from 12 Mbit/s and 4K UHD from 35 Mbit/s. Most DSL, cable and fiber optic connections in Germany are well above this.
Stuttering (buffering) rarely occurs solely due to lack of bandwidth, but often due to fluctuating connections or Wi-Fi. For stable 4K IPTV, we recommend a LAN connection or strong 5 GHz Wi-Fi. With German 4K, a VPN is integrated for free with every access.
