Do you have CR Player on your TV and are wondering how to get your channels in there? This guide leads you through the entire process: install the App, read the MAC address and Device Key from the start screen, have the playlist uploaded, and activate the player. You don't need technical knowledge, and you don't have to type anything out.
What is CR Player?
Update 22.10.2026: CR Player is no longer found in the LG Content Store – we therefore recommend IBO Player Pro for LG TVs. Update 30.09.2026: CR Player remains our recommendation for Samsung TVs. For Fire TV, Android TV, Google TV, and Android phones, we now recommend our own App German4K Ultra (Downloader-Code 8781950) – without license costs and without activation. Those already using CR Player there can simply stick with it.
CR Player is a slim IPTV App for TVs, TV sticks, and Android devices. It works with a device identifier instead of a username and password: Upon the first launch, it shows you a MAC address and a six-digit Device Key. With these two pieces of information, we place your playlist directly on your device. So you don't type in a server address or login credentials, which is exactly what makes it so convenient for beginners.
After installation, the App runs for one week for free. After that, it requires activation. We also handle that for you, more on that below.
Which devices does CR Player run on?
The short answer: on everything that runs Android, and on Samsung and LG TVs. Here is how the App gets onto your device:
| Your device | How the app gets on there |
|---|---|
| Fire TV Stick, Fire TV Cube | Downloader-Code 2995877 |
| Android TV, Google TV | Play Store or Downloader-Code 2995877 |
| Samsung Smart TV, LG Smart TV | App Store of your TV |
| Android Phone, Android Tablet | Google Play Store |
| iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Mac, PC | Does not exist there |
We write the last line deliberately instead of leaving it out: CR Player does not exist on iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV, and likewise not on Mac and Windows PC. Anyone searching there will search in vain. For iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV, use the UHF App instead; for Mac and PC, you will find suitable players in our installation guides. Both are linked below.
Step 1: Install CR Player
Fire TV Stick and Fire TV Cube
- Open the "Downloader" app on the Fire TV. If it's missing, you can find it in the Amazon App Store.
- Allow installation from unknown sources once: Settings, then "My Fire TV", then "Developer options".
- Enter the code 2995877 in the Downloader and confirm.
- Install the app and open it once. It will now display its identifiers.
Android TV and Google TV
- The fastest way here too is via the Downloader app with the code 2995877.
- Alternatively, search for "CR Player" in your TV's Google Play Store and install it from there.
- Open the app once so the MAC address and Device Key appear.
Samsung Smart TV (LG: see below)
- Samsung: Press the Home button, open the "Apps" section, and search for "CR Player".
- LG: CR Player is no longer available in the LG Content Store. Use IBO Player Pro on LG TVs, which we set up for you in the same way.
- Install, start the app once, done. You don't need a Downloader on the TV.
Android Phone and Tablet
- Search for "CR Player" in the Google Play Store. The app package is named com.storecr.acrplayer, which is how you recognize the correct app.
- Install and open once.
- Practical for on-the-go, and it's the fastest way to try it out because you don't have to sit at the TV.
Step 2: Read MAC Address and Device Key
At the first start, CR Player shows both directly on the start screen: a MAC address in the format XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX and a six-digit Device Key. Ideally, take a photo with your phone so you don't have to write anything down and won't make a typo.
We need both pieces of information together. The MAC address tells us which device is meant, and the Device Key is the key with which we are authorized to access it at all. If one of the two is missing, we cannot access your device and would have to ask again.
Step 3: Have the playlist uploaded, for free
Now your channels are coming to the device. Open our player page, select your device, and enter the MAC address and Device Key. We will place your "German 4K" playlist directly on the CR Player. This costs nothing and is independent of the activation.
No access with us yet? On the same page, you can test for 24 hours for free. We will then place a test playlist on your device, you can see with your own eyes how it runs at your home, and the test access ends automatically afterwards.
Enter the MAC address and Device Key, we'll do the rest. Uploading the playlist is free, testing is too.
Step 4: Activate CR Player
After the free week, the App needs to be activated. There are two ways to do this:
- You buy the activation individually for 10 €: Your player then runs for one year.
- You take the Lifetime activation for 25 €: pay once, after that, the player belongs to you, without renewal.
The difference in one sentence: For 10 €, your player runs for a year; for 25 €, you pay once and keep it.
In both cases, you enter the same two pieces of information as for the playlist. So you don't have to look anything up twice, and you don't need a customer account for it either.
After activation: Close the App completely once
Almost everyone overlooks this step, and it costs the most time. After activation, close CR Player completely once. That means really exiting it and not just sending it to the background with the Home button. The next time you open it, it will recognize the activation. Without this restart, it remains in the old state, and this is by far the most common "doesn't work" report that isn't one.
And one more point that saves follow-up questions: The player portal may still show "Inactive" even though everything is running for you. The display there does not know about our activation. What matters is what happens on the TV, not what the player's website claims.
Common stumbling blocks and what helps
- No channels after uploading? Close the app completely and reopen it. It may take a moment during the first load.
- MAC address copied incorrectly? One swapped character is enough, and the assignment goes wrong. Compare it calmly with the display on the TV or just send us a photo.
- Forgot to include the Device Key? Without it, we can't access the device. It is on the same screen as the MAC address, directly below it.
- App not found in the store? Check the spelling "CR Player". On Fire TV, the Downloader-Code 2995877 is the faster way anyway.
- Image stutters or buffers? Connect the TV to a LAN cable or 5 GHz Wi-Fi. For true 4K, this is the most effective lever.
- Bought a new device? Then the MAC address changes, and we will set up your new device again. Just write to us briefly, it's done in a few minutes.
CR Player or IBO Player Pro?
We can activate both for you, and both work according to the same pattern: read the identifier, enter it with us, and the playlist comes to the device automatically. We recommend CR Player for Samsung TVs; if you prefer to stick with IBO Player Pro there, that's just as good. On LG, use IBO Player Pro, as the LG Content Store no longer carries CR Player. On Fire TV, Android TV, Google TV, and Android phones, our own App German4K Ultra is even easier because it doesn't need activation at all. For that one, we have a separate step-by-step guide because the paths in the Smart TV store look a bit different.
The fact that we offer two players instead of one is intentional. If something hitches with one provider, the other path is ready, and you aren't sitting in front of a black screen.
The guide for the other player
- Set up and activate IBO Player Pro on Samsung & LG — The same process for the Samsung and LG Smart TV Store
Conclusion: Ready to go in a few minutes
CR Player is set up in a few minutes: install the App, read the MAC address and Device Key from the start screen, and enter both with us. The playlist comes to the device automatically without you typing in a server address. For activation, you have the choice between one year and paying once. It's best to test for 24 hours for free first and then set it up at your leisure.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I set up CR Player?
You install the App via Downloader-Code 2995877, the Play Store, or your TV's App Store and open it once. Your MAC address and a six-digit Device Key are on the start screen. You enter both on our player page, then we upload your playlist directly to your device.
Where do I find the MAC address and Device Key in CR Player?
At the first start, the App shows both directly on the start screen: the MAC address in the format XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX and below it a six-digit Device Key. The easiest way is to take a photo with your phone so you don't make a typo.
What does the activation of CR Player cost?
For 10 €, your player runs for a year; for 25 €, you pay once and keep it.
Which devices does CR Player run on?
On Fire TV Stick and Fire TV Cube, on Android TV and Google TV, on Samsung and LG TVs, as well as on Android phones and tablets. CR Player does not exist on iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV; there you use the UHF App. It also does not exist on Mac and Windows PC.
Does CR Player run on iPhone or iPad?
No, CR Player is not available for iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV. Use the UHF App there; we have a separate guide for that. Your access data remains the same, so you can use CR Player on the TV and the UHF app on the go in parallel.
The player portal says "Inactive", is something wrong?
No, that is normal. The display in the player portal does not know about our activation and therefore sometimes stays on "Inactive" even though everything is running on the TV. The only important thing is that you close the App completely once and reopen it after activation.
Do I have to enter server address, username, and password?
No. That is exactly the advantage: you only provide the MAC address and Device Key, and we automatically place the playlist with all access data on the device. After restarting the App, all channels, movies, and series are there.
